Staff Team
Pastoral staff, whether appointed from within or from outside the congregation, go through a call process that assesses whether they meet the biblical criteria set out for eldership. They are ultimately voted on by the members of the church, and though they do not need to stand for renomination regularly, can have their calling conclude by a vote of the membership. Other staff positions are filled based on skills and competencies as well as character and Christian commitment. The Leadership Team, led by the Senior Pastor, has authority over these employment decisions.
Ian Walton
Senior Pastor
Ian has been faithfully pastoring for several decades now, shepherding our Church for nearly a decade! Ian believes strongly in the authority of scripture, in loving and welcoming others, and giving his heart to the Lord. Ian takes great care to seek the Lord for wisdom in how to be a good shepherd to our church, which has been greatly appreciated by our church.
Tim Hicks
Associate Pastor
Tim has a strong background as both a teacher and a student. He and his lovely wife live on Magnetic Island. Tim has experience as a Secondary School Teacher, as well as many years spent in theological studies. He is passionate about discipleship and loves diving into scripture.

David has an incredible heart for those who are in need. A soft-spoken and laid-back farmer from out west, who is more than willing and able to roll up his sleeves and work hard at whatever needs to be done. David heads up Pastoral Care at our Church, along with a team of many others, he reaches out to the hurting and struggling to help them through the trials of this life.
Naomi Walmsley
Pastoral Care Worker
Naomi was born into a Christian missionary family in Ghana before moving to Rural Australia at age four. She and her Husband, David Walmsley, have three adult children and have served in Mission Aviation Fellowship for over 20 years.
They came to townsville when David got an Engineering job with the Royal Flying Doctors Service. She is very much looking forward to serving the church in Pastoral Care.
Ethan Poznaks
Youth & Children’s Pastor
Ethan is our youth and children’s pastor, currently working his way through Bible College and heading up our Youth program. Ethan is a highly diligent and caring man. Ethan also serves as one of our two church safe officers, a critical role ensuring the protection of vulnerable people within our church activities.
